Up For The Cup

Beauy seniors traveled to play Brimbank Stallions from State League 1 North West on Saturday in round 3 of the FFA Cup in our first competitive match of 2021. A tough game was anticipated in pouring rain and there was much interest in the fact we had 7 debutants in the squad. After weathering an early storm from Brimbank the boys settled down to outplay an dominate our opponents quickly going 2 goals up through Vulic and Brown before conceding a slack goal just before half time. The second half was a replica performance to the first half with Beauy scoring twice through Panayi and Vulic again, before conceding a consolation in injury time to run out 4.2 winners. An excellent confidence boosting win before the league season starts next Saturday and we are again in the hat for the 4th round.
