Child Safety at Beauy.

Thanks to our sponsors Optus for their support in providing members with an informative briefing on Wednesday 10 September how to protect children from the risks of using digital devices and in particular the threat of cyber bullying. Having launched our Child Safety Policy earlier this year, Beauy is committed to helping our members understand the risks children face when using digital devices and providing practical information to assist parents minimse such risks.

Dom Phelan from the Optus Digital Thumbprint program facilitated an engaging workshop with practical tips on keeping children safe online. The workshop covered topics such as cyberbullying and respectful relationships, staying safe on apps and games, protecting personal information online, generative AI and actions parents can take to combat online grooming and sexual extortion.

The Optus Digital Thumbprint supports young people and families to achieve, thrive, and belong in today’s digital world. It was launched in 2013 and has educated over 700,000 primary and secondary students and offers a range of resources for parents and caregivers. We encourage you to access these resources via: Resources – Digital Thumbprint

The workshop was provided by Optus free of charge as part of Optus’ focus on educating on digital safety and wellbeing. The program is national and is endorsed by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner as a Trusted eSafety Provider program.

Thanks
