Have Your Say To Improve Balcombe Park for Beauy Kids

Bayside City Council are asking for feedback on their Bayside Open Space Strategy specifically the condition of the Balcombe Park and Beaumaris Reserves which our children and senior players have access to from 1 April to 14 September.

The results of this survey will determine the Council's prioritisation of remedial works and investment in the next 10years. Our greatest need is to get the Balcombe Park Reserve fit for purpose. It is currently classified as category D reserve and it needs upgrading to category B to ensure that our boys and girls can use it during the winter.

What is the issue with Balcombe Park Reserve?

There is metal under the surface which presents a serious health and safety hazard. We have asked Council to address this issue urgently and are still waiting. The Reserve has no ground maintenance or irrigation which means it is in very poor condition, leading to many complaints. Your club has no authority from Council to address these issues, only Council can do so using their preferred contractor CityWide. We have asked Council to upgrade their classification of the Reserve to make it safe and fit for purpose, as our only other Reserve has insufficient space to accommodate our 42 teams.
