Notice to All Club Volunteers

We are writing to inform you of some important changes relating to Working With Childrens Checks.

Changes to Working with Children Check requirements

From 19 October 2026, the way Working with Children (WWC) Checks are managed in Victoria is changing. Clubs and other organisations that work with children now have to use WWC Connect to link new volunteers to their organisation and to keep their details up to date.

Beaumaris Soccer Club will also use WWC Connect for all existing volunteers. This will help us keep an accurate record of everyone working with children at the Club and make sure we are advised if someone’s WWC Clearance status changes.

New child safety training

From 19 October 2026, anyone applying for or renewing a WWC Check, or changing from a volunteer to an employee clearance, must complete child safety training before their application can be finalised. The online, self-paced training takes about 45 minutes and will help everyone better understand their role in keeping children safe.

Why are these changes being made?

These changes are about giving children stronger protection. Better information will help the Social Services Regulator and clubs like ours spot possible risks earlier and make safer decisions about who works or volunteers with children.

At Beaumaris Soccer Club, child safety is our highest priority. We welcome these changes because they will strengthen the way we oversee WWC Clearances and support all of us to play our part in making the Club a safe and welcoming place for every child.
