2022 - Junior Boys Wrap Up

Goal Kick (4-6 yr olds)

Goal Kick has been very popular again with parents and children with a large increase in numbers meaning we had to create a wait list. The program concluded 21 August and we thank all families for turning up each Sunday morning, hail, or shine. The program is all about having “fun” coupled with introducing basic cognitive skills to enhance coordination and ball skills. A big thank you to our Senior Men & Women players who helped coach Goal Kick throughout the season and particularly super coaches Dylan K and Jason N for their commitment. Goal Kick is the essence of Beauy parents and kids having fun in a positive learning environment and our last session for the season had parents’ vs kids’ games. Needless to say, all the kids teams won demonstrating their newly acquired super ball skills! A huge thank you also to Rachael from Genius ELC in Beaumaris who is the key sponsor of our Goal Kick program. Rachael and her team can offer places to any nippers out there who need an ELC and Tony will be providing a special Beauy GoalKick session at the centre to recruit new players! If families want to continue in 2023 please register your child early as this program has limited numbers.

Under 7’s

Our Under 7s have had a great season full of fun with a taste of the competitive Saturday games. They have all transitioned well from GoalKick and are learning the fundamentals of a game scenario. The Bayside league is a fantastic competition and gives all players a great foundation for how home and away fixtures work. A big thank you to Jason & James for coaching the boys throughout the year with special congratulations to Jason on his first year of coaching. Best of luck to the team for their last game this Saturday 27 August.

Mini Roos U8s – 11s

The 8-10 ‘mini roos’ had an up and down season impacted by the lack of continuity of football due to covid and continuous illness throughout the year impacting our younger players. We focused the coaching on sessions and basic drills to instill an understanding of team-based possession football. Players responded well and enjoyed being on the park again doing what they love. Our Under11s had some fantastic games showing their competitiveness with some tight score lines against very good opposition. They thrived under coach Andrew, so well done on a great season, and you can look forward to the challenge of U12s next season.

Junior Boys

U12As

The U12s came out firing with exceptional possession-based ball playing abilities meaning they are in the title race against a NPL team, only 4 points behind with 4 games to go. This year we have had two U11 players, play up and dominate the competition. This is testament to coach Nico’s session plans that have developed a well drilled ‘playing out from the back’ style using a 3-4-1 formation. With an emphasis on playing wide and direct attacking football the team has stunned NPL opposition on several occasions. High intensity pressing football has helped the boys gel exceptionally well and they are thriving. Well done and congratulations Nico on your leadership this season!

U12Bs

Coach Ricky has done an amazing job coaching the team to 9 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. A fantastic feat as they sit 2nd on the ladder, 2 points behind top spot with 4 rounds to go. The title is up for grabs and no doubt the players will do their absolute best. Good Luck and enjoy the rest of the season.

U13As

The boys have grown in an A squad playing some great competitive football which is a joy to watch. Currently 4th on the ladder the team have been played well against NPL and Academy opponents. A credit to Coach Con for this improvement with lots of positives to come out of this season and we expect they will finish the season on a high.

U13Bs

Thank you to coach Jarrod (our Senior Men’s Team Goalkeeper) for taking this team under his wing. Some mixed results but overall, they have all had a blast and learnt some valuable skills from a coach who has shown a talent for junior development as well as some great goalkeeping! Keep up the great work!

U14As

A positive start to the season with some hurdles faced along the way as they have endured stiff competition from well-developed tactical opponents. The team improved week to week and demonstrated a can-do attitude constantly striving to better themselves. Coach Michael has done a great job and is expecting the team to finish the season on a high!

U14Bs

Coach Dan has seen his team grow in talent and application this season. They have worked hard to maintain steady results improving from week to week by learning and implementing Dan’s session plans. Keep up the great work team!

U15As

The U15s have had a tough season as they focus on remaining 4 rounds. The team’s effort has been positive throughout the season but has lacked the finish to the chances created. Credit to all the boys as they have put their heart and soul into their games. Well done to Coach Neil who stepped in halfway through the season and special congratulations to the boys who stepped up seizing the opportunity to train with the Men’s Reserve team. Youth development is an ongoing journey, and the boys recognize this is their goal.

U16As

This team is having an excellent season under Coach Chris’ guidance. The boys have shone when taking shape in playing the game in the right spirit without losing the intensity of competition. The team are 3rd on the ladder with 5 points separating all 3 teams and 4 games to go. Keep up the great work.

U15/16Bs

This team is a combination of 15/16-year-olds coached by Mat & Alessio. The boys have done an amazing job in their first season of coaching, Mat being an ex-Reserves player for several years. The team has responded exceptionally well to these young men and have thrived showing great camaraderie. I hope they continue into senior football as they have bounded up the ladder after some exceptional wins. Mat and Alessio’s game day tactics have been unstoppable of late and the team is 3rd on the ladder with the boys aiming to finishing in the top two. Best of luck to a great team who deserve success and well done Mat and Alessio for being great role models for these young men.

U17Bs

Coach Jeff has done a great job this season in coaching this newly formed team enjoying the challenge of Metro Football playing teams both older and more experienced. Keep up the great work and enjoy your last few remaining games.

Junior Presentation Day

This is scheduled for Saturday September 3rd at the Reserve with an enjoyable afternoon in store with trophy presentations throughout the day. It will be a family event with activities and games although we are unable to host the usual rides due to Council restrictions on the use of the Reserve. We will have an inflatable soccer pitch provided by Melbourne Victory and we’re looking forward to a great day with yummy food from the canteen and BBQ, popcorn, and fairy floss. A fantastic way to finish off a very successful season.

Castlefield Cup

Saturday September 10 sees several Beaumaris teams in the Castlefield Cup hosted at Sandringham Soccer Club. Always a competitive tournament we wish the following teams the best of luck in their age groups and I will be there on the day to cheer them on!

U11, U10, U9 and U8 Boys
U10/11 and U8/9 Girls

Thank you to all the parents, players and volunteers at Beaumaris Soccer Club, week in and week out you have all been an amazing support for the club. We wish all the Junior teams best of luck for the remainder 4 rounds of the season. I am super proud of each and every team member we have representing Beaumaris Soccer Club. Thank you also to our coaches, team managers, volunteer referees, volunteer marshals and the Age Group Coordinators who have all helped shaped our junior team's success this year.

A big congratulations to our Men’s Senior Team who have won State League One and are promoted to National Premier League. Gibbo, Billy Tsiakos, Didier and the team, you all deserve every success that comes your way, and you should be proud. Go get ‘em!

On a personal note, a huge thank you to Maxine Thomson, our jill of all trades at the club, from club registrar to managing our grounds and fixtures, liaison with Football Victoria and communicator extraordinaire. Maxine has been a club stalwart for the best of 15 years and has volunteered her time for all those years to ensure the smooth running of the club. Maxine has helped me immensely, is always available & invaluable support to me in my role at the club. Best of luck Maxine with your move ‘home’ to New Zealand. The club certainly has big shoes to fill but it’s time to enjoy some special time with your family.

THANK YOU

Tony Tsiakos – Director of Football Beaumaris Soccer Club 2022

And last but by no means least, a huge thank you to Tony, Tania, Nic and Ethan. Tony and his family have been huge contributors to our club with Tony being Junior Director of Football through the hardest of times of the pandemic and multiple lockdowns. Tony leaves us at the end of this season and throughout his tenure, he has approached every challenge with a big smile and a can-do attitude. His personality exudes warmth and friendliness which is what we stand for as a club.

Tony, Tania and the boys are always welcome at Beauy and on behalf of parents, players, volunteers, the Prez and all the Committee we wish you every success and thank you for all you have achieved.
