Beaumaris 3 - 1 South Springvale
Beaumaris 3-1 South Springvale
Beauy completed a second successive win with a hard-fought effort over South Springvale on a crisp Saturday night at Beauy College. By halftime Beauy were two ahead, despite having had minimal possession with the visitors dominating the ball for large periods. It’s goals that count, however, and strikes from Gianni Allebi, and Zach Lemke in the 9th and 20th minute had Beauy in a strong position at half time.
A structural change at the break enabled Beauy to get a foothold and more time in possession and the game was end to end. Springvale grabbed one when a deflected free-kick eluded our keeper Jarrod Hill,, and some strong defending was needed, with Beauy always dangerous on the breakaway. One strong run and shot from the Springvale winger saw Hill make an outstanding save low to his left when an equalizer seemed inevitable, and the moment was improved when George Smethurst sprinted down the right and crossed for Ryan Brown to tap in for the Beauy third in the 89th minute.
Next week the long trip to Warragul.
Reserves fought hard before going down 0-1 to South Springvale.
