After 578 days, competitive football returned to Beaumaris Reserve on 10 April 2021. The pristine sward that is now the Reserve was highlighted with the attendance of the Elder Statesmen of the Club. Two games between Beauy and Alphington and then Sandringham in the O55 and O45 competitions saw a number of the Club’s greats return to competition.
Joe Novella with a hat-trick for the 55’s worked closely with Pete Greaves, Mike Stone, Paul Kelly and Matt Pride, under the direction of player-coach Steve Stroud to start with a 4-1 win.
The 45’s won 3-0 and ended their afternoon with a sweep out of the new temporary club rooms…… it’s great to be back they all agreed!
