Doveton 3-2 Beaumaris
Beauy continued their count down to kick off on 21 March, with a trip to newly promoted NPL2 side Doveton.
In slippery conditions, and with the ball zipping about there were chances at both ends before a good move down the left saw a cross headed back across goal by George Smethurst and Antun Vulic scored at the far post to give the visitors the lead. Doveton equalised almost immediately after a swift raid when the ball was lost in midfield, but Beauy grabbed the lead again before the break, when Smethurst took advantage of a slip by a Doveton defender to slot home inside the near post.
Changes aplenty were made as both teams looked to review various players and systems, and Beauy allowed a loose ball into the box be slotted home to be back on level terms. The away side pressed forward and had the ball in the net, but was ruled out for handball
On the 90th minute a free kick on the edge of the box was given to Doveton and slotted home with almost the last kick of the game
Again some defensive frailty which will need to be ironed out before the season proper gets underway
Next friendly at Knox City on 22 February 2020.
