Masters Over 45's - Glen Eira at Home

Beaumaris 4 - Glen Eira 2

Today the over 45’s were away to Glen Eira at 3pm. Beauy started poorly giving away a penalty in the early stages leaving them trailing 1-0. The lads lifted their game dominating possession and playing some lovely football.

They equalized soon after with a nice left-foot toe-poke from Keldin into the top corner. Beauy continued pressing Glen Eira looking for the lead but unfortunately, the hosts grabbed a goal straight from a corner. The heads didn’t drop and the midfield played a lovely through ball for Ash to run onto and slot home. He almost had his second not long after heading the ball into the crossbar from a free-kick.

They didn’t have to wait long for the lead though as Ash headed home his second from a well-placed cross (possible shot) from Ed. Not wanting to go into halftime with just a goal lead, Nick switched the ball across to Steve who put the ball into Mikey B who headed it giving Beauy a 4-2 lead into halftime.

The second half was tight and feisty with both teams trying to get the first goal. A lot of silly fouls and slide tackles saw both teams pick up some yellow cards. The game wasn’t calming down and a Beauy player (we won’t point fingers) got a straight red card. Beauy created some chances on the counter-attack after that but no goals scored in the second half.
