Macca's City Cup wrap up

It was a hugely successful weekend at the Macca's City Cup for both our Junior Girls and Junior Boys.

Our U15 and U16 Boys teams participated in the Macca's City Cup on the weekend 🏆

Both teams represented the club with distinction. Our U15s did well to finish 2nd in their group, only losing to NPL side Dandenong Thunder in the group stage.

The U16s finished top of the group, scoring 13 goals and not conceding. That meant we had to play one another in a semi-final where the U15s pushed the U16s hard, but in the end the 16s fitness was the difference.

U16s finished runners up, losing the final 1-0 to Dandenong Thunder. In a hard fought game with few chances, we conceded a scrappy goal early then proceeded to push them all the way, but couldn't quite find the equaliser.

The club should be very proud of the efforts of both teams who, at this stage of pre-season are developing nicely. Good signs for the season ahead.

Well done to everyone involved!

It was an incredible tournament from our U10/11 Girls (Opals) - who had a wonderful run to the final of the 2024 Macca's City Cup.

Our U10/11 Opals won the semi final against Lynbrook in a huge 7:0 victory, but ended runners up 2:5 in the grand final to NPL side, Bulleen.

Congratulations on an incredible Macca’s City Cup, girls!
