Beauy Bubbles - Chelsea Tournament

The Beauy Bubbles were locked into the Chelsea Tournament on Sunday 15th March so training started with gusto early Feb.

There is no holding these women back, they found aground and even recruited new players and trained diligently through injuries and hardship right up to the tournament.

The day consisted of nine teams split into two groups playing four matches each. Beauy only had 6 players and recruited a star player on the day to fill in.

Game 1 against Hampton Happy Feet. Beauy scores the first goal lifting the spirits. Although by half time with no subs, against a team with many handballs and penalties saw a 2-2 draw.

Time for a quick drink and Game 2 against Aspendale Stingrays. Bubbles training pays off with accurate passing down the wing and set gameplays boggling the opposition. Resulting in a 3 - 1 win with a much needed one game break to Beauy.

Game 3 - Bubbles v Mornington Penninsula. Mornington hasn’t played in our league but had some experienced players although that didn’t intimidate our team. By half time Beauy were up 4 - O. Another 2 straight after the whistle and Mornington enlist the mercy rule and Beay are down to 5 players v 7. It doesn’t stop us winning 8 - 0

Game 4 against the familiar Brighton was a hard-fought draw.

The scores were tallied Group 1 top team Beauy Bubbles. Group 2 top team Seaford. May the best team win. Seaford has won every game in their group and they had four subs. Did we mention we didn’t have ANY?

Seaford was a very physical team and strong on the ball. They haven’t played in our league and we’re an unknown and won in the end 2 - 0.

What a fantastic day for the Beauy Bubbles to come second out of nine teams and play every game with no subs. A huge well done to the players Cherie, Janine, Janet, Livia, Maree, Jess and recruit on the day Michelle.

This group of ladies bring so much spirit and drive to the club and have the blue and yellow with a touch of bubbles running through their veins. Looking forward to playing again soon.
