Which Team?

During the registration process you will need to select the relevant Playing Group based on the player year of birth (e.g. if you are born in the year 2007 you will have to register with the Under 16s).

For our Mini-Roos teams (u12/born 2011 and younger) we aim to get the team balance right between Graded and Social teams. Players are allocated to each, and allocations will be reviewed by the Age Group Coordinator and coaches during the season to ensure the balance between player development and fun on the park is right.

  • Graded Teams: Train twice a week with experienced and/or certified coaches. All players are assessed and selected to be at the same level of football ability. Suitable for talented, ambitious, and committed players and parents. Teams play in ‘A’ competition.

  • Social Team: Train once (or sometimes twice) a week with volunteer coaches. Fun and friendship based. All football abilities included and allocated to less competitive leagues;

All Sub-Junior & Junior players are not permitted to play up in any age group without the assessment and approval of the Junior Director of Football.

Final team selection will be finalised once all registrations are completed with FV. We will contact the player or their nominated parent or guardian to confirm their team allocations. If you have been selected for the ‘A’ squads, you will have received notification following the player trials.
