As the 2008 season fast approaches I
would like to take this opportunity and thank you all for your
support at Beaumaris SC in 2007. Whether as a
parent, coach, team manager, committee member, volunteer, player or
just a spectator, the club appreciates your contribution and thanks
you.
Once again, our committee at BSC are filled with enthusiasm for the upcoming year but as
the case every year need your help in any way possible to ensure the
smooth running of it's operations. As you know, it's this help and
support from all our volunteers that enables the club to run each
year. So if you're looking for a job, albeit just one hour a week, please
call me. We'd be delighted to have you on board.
As junior teams are now being formed
and coaches filling their positions, we call on volunteers
in these roles for the running of teams. Team Managers and
coaches are invaluable so if you're up for it, please don't hesitate to
call Allan Jarrold.
I'd also love to see some of
our Seniors players and Masters overlook the under 7's and 8's
with coaching tips and drop in visits during training to inspire,
encourage and motivate our young players throughout the year.
We have new sponsorship packages about
to be announced with Anna Clothier at the helm looking to recruit
funds in to the club.
Anna can be contacted via the website
should you or your company wish to be part of our progressive
community spirited club.
New Seniors Coach Bob Shields has
begun pre-season training and has indicated (just quietly) some
early confidence in a good year ahead for our lads. Many of the young lads
coming through the junior ranks are maturing into Beauie stars! We're all
looking forward to great Saturday afternoons as usual down at the club
supporting our boys, come along it's great fun.
Our senior Women's team is starting to
recruit players and with superstar coach Joe Novella poised to take the
position as head coach, success looms! Spread the word that we're
looking for a few new players as well.
The Masters are back to front up
for another year, and another year older bringing the average age to
nearly 93. Now, if you do want a serious laugh, come and watch how
good we are for our age, especially me.... and our Vice President Joe Kiss
will show you he's still "got it" as a goal-keeper!
On a personal note, I've been
invited on to the social committee/board at Melbourne Victory FC, and
accepted I might add. I'm also Melbourne
Victory's Host/MC for all home games in a Corporate Room at
Telstra Dome called "The Victory Club. These roles will hopefully hold me
in good stead as perhaps a way to develop a good relationship between
our club and Melbourne Victory in the future.
Have a great year with your team,
don't hesitate to call me if you have any issues, and please, look
out for those volunteers!!
Football has taken off !
Joe Mottola
President
